Gear Aid Aquasure FD Repair Adhesive – Strong & Waterproof Neoprene Glue
Got torn waders, ripped neoprene, or cracked rubber gear? Gear Aid Aquasure FD Repair Adhesive is the world’s most trusted flexible and waterproof adhesive for repairing neoprene, rubber, nylon, PVC and many other materials. Once cured, it forms a tough, elastic layer that won’t crack or peel – even under water.
Instructions for Use
Aquasure FD is suitable for quick patches as well as permanent repairs. Follow these steps to achieve the best result:
Before You Start
- Clean the surface with soapy water or solvent – it must be clean and dry.
- Remove any loose fibers or threads.
- Lightly roughen hard surfaces with fine sandpaper for better adhesion.
How to Apply
- Apply the adhesive directly from the tube or use a small tool (stick or spatula).
- Press the surfaces together and leave to cure undisturbed.
- Full curing time: 10–14 hours. For a stronger result, allow longer curing.
- A special accelerator (sold separately) can reduce curing time to ~2 hours.
Repairing Holes and Cracks
- Place tape or backing behind the hole to prevent seepage.
- Fill the hole so that the adhesive overlaps the edges by 0.5–0.6 cm.
- Remove the tape only after the adhesive has fully cured.
Seam Repairs
- Apply a strip about 1.5 cm wide, covering at least 0.6 cm on each side of the seam.
- On fabrics, press gently so the adhesive penetrates the fibers.
High-Wear Areas
- Apply a thicker layer for a strong, flexible protective coating.
- Apply multiple layers if necessary, letting each cure before adding the next.
Note: Aquasure FD is not suitable for silicone surfaces or silnylon fabrics.
Store tube tightly closed in a cool, dry place. Avoid contact with eyes and skin.
